I haven't found this found this word in dictionaries, but it comes up a lot
when you google it. Does it mean un-worldly extraterretrial thing?(in a positive way)?

Right. I guess they are using it now like "out of this world", I this case it means coming from Mars (Marte).

(In Mexico at least) it's a word to describe something strange or incomprehensible (as if it came from Mars or were done by Martians) and it could also be foolish or ridiculous.

El poema que escribió Juan es una marcianada. Yo creo que no estaba sobrio cuando lo escribió.
That poem Juan wrote is nonsense. I think he wasn't sober when he wrote it.

La película es una marcianada: junta gnomos, perros que hablan y escobas que caminan, en un edificio burocrático.
The movie is just nonsense: it puts together gnomes, talking dogs and walking brooms inside a bureaucratic building.

agree with angelica.
EL director de cine pretendía vener la película como "de culto" y era una marcianada.....

Allá van los de la despedida de soltero, seguo que tras unas copas acaban haciendo una marcianada (algo raro ó curioso)

Thanks. This Spanish noun resembles the English adjective
outlandish.
