When referring to the shirts the jockeys wear...
How do you call these in Spanish?

Oxford bilingual gives
3 silks pl (Equ) colores mpl (de la cuadra)

And I can say in Spanish "defiendo mis colores" (no just in an equestrian context or register) but is there another way to just refer to the "shirt" or "blouse + cap"?

I.e. Random House gives, 6. silks, the blouse and peaked cap, considered together, worn by a jockey or sulky driver in a race. (The blue word is mine)

As far as my research shows silks are ties with an equestrian theme.

I'm not sure this is part of your question, but to clarify things, I do not
think silks refer to shirts among the horsey set the way jerseys do in the fútbol crowd.
The shirts I see diplayed are called show shirts. THe jackets show jackets. I don't know if the terms translate directly to Spanish, but sedas
sounds like it may be the right Spanish word for equestrian ties.

Thank you. But I am particularly referring to the "blouses" and the caps, like in the Random House definition I gave.

Supongo entonces que "la gorra de visera y la chaquetilla de seda" es a lo que me refiero... supongo que me quedo con lo que dice el Oxford...
