This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for June 12, 2008

nariz -feminine noun (la), nose. Look up nariz in the dictionary

La rinoplastia es una cirugía plástica de la nariz.
Rhinoplasty is plastic surgery of the nose.

-Estoy hasta las narices de ti. Siempre metes las narices en todo, aunque no te concierna. Y además ya eres mayorcito para dejar de meterte el dedo en la nariz.
- Yo nunca me hurgo la nariz.
- Anda calla, que te va a crecer la nariz como a Pinocho.
- Por lo menos no soy tan borde como tú. Ayer me diste con la puerta en las narices.

Nariz aguileña, nariz chata.

Estes dichos son muy salados (can you say that?) Hay algunas palabras
que no entiendo y la agradezco si me puede traducirlas.
Anda calla?
Borde (me parece que alguien me tradujo antes, pero ovidé archivarlo en mi cuaderno) Tambien no estoy seguro el signifcado de "decir con la puerta en las narices"

Anda calla is like shut up. Borde means unfriendly. You probably saw it in a post I wrote to my friend Alfonso. Dar con la puerta en las narices is to close the door in somebody's face.And yes you can say salado for those expressions. Take care.

I was under the impression that ser borde is more like to be rude.
Slam the door in somebody's face is the usual saying here in the U.S.
