Could someone please correct me if I have written the following text wrongly?


No pude saber nunca lo que pasó en mi ausencia, poruqe no me contó nadie toda la verdad.

You missed adding some punctuation to your greeting and you have a typo in your Spanish text.

Just as a matter of "naturalness" (in my view) I'd say it like this,

No pude saber nunca lo que pasó en mi ausencia, porque nadie me contó toda la verdad.

Yep, I thought so too, but then I was wondering whether I need to add the negative "no" since there is the word "nadie" ... i guess its not necesary?

Yup, that's the point. By using "nadie" the "no" remains implied. That's the way a native speaker would say it, unless he wanted to overstress the negative aspect.

You use double negative when "nadie" is not at the start of the sentence:

- ¿No te dijo nadie que nos íbamos de vacaciones?
- ¿Nadie te dijo que nos íbamos de vacaciones?

- No me invitó nadie a la fiesta.
- Nadie me invitó a la fiesta.

- No sabe nadie que estoy aquí.
- Nadie sabe que estoy aquí.
