Ledger

I know nothing about bookkeeping, but I need a short definition for "ledger". I'd like to know if "an account book of final entry" is a good one. I don't know what "final entry" means ("entradas finales" - I don't know even if this term exists in Spanish ). A synonym would be good, too.

Thanks.

My dictionary says it is the principal book employed for the recording of mercantile transactions in which all debtor and creditor accounts are set down. I doubt whether there is a synonym.

Too long to remember, I'd need a short definition

Agree with Angelica - ledger=libro mayor
Meriam Webster definition: a book containing accounts to which debits and credits are posted from books of original entry

Thank you everybody. I think I've already fixed this word in my memory.

A present for you all

I think there is a ledger inside
