nunca se coloca en frente del verbo principal en un verbo compuesto.
Por ejemplo:

Now, though, (instead of Although) I need to speak the language
like/as I want/desire (to).
As I wish it is understandable, and is a transliteration of
como lo deseo, but it wouldn't be as commonly used as the phrase I supplied.
