Difference between seeking and looking for

seeking the precious jewel.

I`m looking for my wallet.

both are the same?
perhaps I`m confused yet.

To look for and to seek both mean buscar.
To look for is much more commonly used.

English often has more than one way to say things. Both to seek and to look for mean the same thing. And, it is also possible to say to seek for.

What do you seek? (What are you seeking?)
What do you seek for? (What are you seeking for?)
I'm seeking (for) a job.

What are you looking for?
I'm looking for a job.

Seek is often used in religious terms. Seek can be used in daily speech also, but look for sounds more natural in common speech

'look' is better when you're just talking but sometimes novels will use 'seek' for literary effect.
