Joint-stock company
What is a "joint-stock company"? I've seen that it can be translated by "sociedad anónima", but I'm not sure if that existed in 1629 in Massachusetts.

I think it's a consortium (consorcio).
There may be fine differences between consortiums, corporations, partnerships, joint-stock companies, but they are related business operations.
