I studied Chinese (Putonghua) for 2 semesters when I was a student 32 years ago. These days I understand very little spoken Chinese and I can recognize perhaps 100 characters.

Cursé el chino (Putonghua) por dos semestres cuando era estudiante hace 32 años. Actualmente entiendo muy poco del chino hablado y puedo reconocer quizás 100 caracteres.
