Soy nuevo = I am new
al idioma español = to the Spanish language (note that the 'ñ' can be selected from the 'Accents' drop-down menu located just above where you type)

A more common way to say that is, "Soy novato en el idioma español."

Pero tengo que participar = But I have to participate
en conversación = in conversation (the 'ó' can also be found in the drop-down menu)
para poder avanzar = in order to move forward

A more common way to say this is, "Pero tengo que conversar para poder avanzar."
