Hello, attempting to learn Spanish

Could someone please correct this for me please? I'm currently learning Spanish and i'm trying to understand verb conjugations etc. I quickly wrote a paragraph in English and i've translated it into Spanish as best as i could so i could find any mistakes and then learn from them.

Hello, my name is David Thomas. I am from Liverpool, England and i was born in 1991.
For a few years now, i've wanted to try snowboarding and i've decided this year will be the year i'm going to try it. I'm going to drive from Liverpool to London and then drive to France, once i arrive in France i will drive to Spain where i will begin my snowboarding trip. Although i could fly to Spain from Liverpool i think it would be much more fun if i drove there instead because i love to drive. If only i had the money now, i'd set off right now however i've got to wait a few months before i can finally attempt this trip.

Yo voy conducir de Liverpool a London y pues conducir a Francia, una vez llego en Francia conduciré a España donde comenzaré mi snowboarding viaje. Aunque podría volar a España de Liverpool pienso sería mucho más diversión si condujera allí en lugar porque me encanta conducir. Si solomente tuve el dinero ahora, pondría partir ahora mismo sin embargo tengo que esperar un pocos meses antes puedo finalmente intentar este viaje.

Durante algunos años ahora (This is a word-for-word translation for "for/during some years now", but it doesn't work in Spanish. Try a different approach to express the same idea), he querido tratar snowboarding y he decidido (You're missing a relative pronoun here. It's optional in English, but mandatory in Spanish.) este año será el año (Missing relative pronoun.) voy probarlo. Yo voy (missing preposition) conducir de Liverpool a London y pues (wrong word) conducir a Francia, una vez llego (This makes no sense in Spanish: try to think of a different way to express the idea) en Francia conduciré a España donde comenzaré mi snowboarding viaje (You can't use the noun "snowboarding" as an adjective modifying "viaje" in this way. There's another way to express the idea in Spanish.). Aunque podría volar a España de Liverpool pienso (Missing relative pronoun.) sería mucho más diversión (you need an adjective here, not a noun) si condujera allí en lugar ("en lugar" cannot stand alone: it must be "en lugar de X", and you have to explicitly say the X) porque me encanta conducir. Si solomente tuve (wrong mood) el dinero ahora, pondría (Wrong verb: conditional of "poner" doesn't make sense here) partir ahora mismo sin embargo tengo que esperar un pocos (The adjective "poco" does not always translate "a few". In this context the proper way to say "a few" is to use the plural indefinite article "unos") meses antes puedo (A conjugated verb cannot follow the adverb "antes". You need to use the preposition "antes de + infinitive" or "antes (de) que + clause) finalmente intentar este viaje.

I would replace the "Durante algunos años ahora" with "He estudiado español para 4 años ahora" or something along those lines.

Also, this should work to correct the first mistake: "Nací en 1991" (I think).

I thought "He estudiado español para 4 años." was correct. Is this not the case?

You would be better off using something like: llevo cuatro años estudiando español or estoy en mi cuarto año..., or hace cuatro años...
