Hi all! ¡Hola todos!

I'm a first-time poster, and I just thought I would introduce myself and give you guys a little information on me.

I live in South Dakota, where I'm currently in graduate school working toward a PhD in sociology. My dissertation research concerns a population in New Mexico, which is one reason why I want to improve my Spanish skills, because much of this research will be with Spaish native speakers (I also just want to finish what I started . . . I studied the language in high school, but forgot it all after I graduated).

A little more about me: I plan to become a college professor after I finish my degree. I'm a pretty boring person: in those rare moments when I'm not researching, presenting, or working on other grad school "stuff" (which is very rare), I like to spend time writing poetry, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
