We're talking about a set phrase (idiomatic expression). Planet hopper's post adds another idiomatic expression (this time in Spanish) to the mix. The translation frequently given for the Spanish expression he posted is 'every cloud has a silver lining.'

Rusty,
I've been wondering on this one for the last 24 hours and everything I get is: -el mal menor -la mejor opcion I'd say we don't have an expression as long as the English one, in Spanish it is more of a phrase. I am sorry, I can't approach Spanish systematically, maybe because I've never taught it before. You're right about the clouds with silver lining...That's a very cool one ![]() |
