¿puedo escribir "rentamos cuartos en vez de se rentan cuartos?

Sí, se puede, pero es más común escribir se alquila(n) cuartos o se renta(n) cuartos. Be advised that rentar is understood by Mexicans, but not necessarily by other hispanohablantes.

Here, in Spain, `Se alquila´ is used and understood more.
