Red striped shirt

Red ‘striped’ shirt:

Are my translations below correct?
• una camisa a rayas
• una camisa de rayas rojas
• una roja camisa a rayas
• una camisa rayada

Incorrect:
• una camisa de rayas
• una camisa a rayas rojas
• una roja camisa de rayas

Curiously, would the same set of rules apply to 'checked shirts', or is this totally different?

Correct:
• una camisa a cuadros
• una camisa de cuadros rojos
• una roja camisa a cuadros
• una camisa cuadrado

Incorrect:
• una camisa de cuadros
• una camisa a cuadros rojos
• una roja camisa de cuadros.

Many thanks in advance.

"Una camisa de cuadros/rayas" is correct. Probably a matter of regionalisms.

"Una camisa a cuadros/rayas rojos(as)" is correct, unless the main colour of the shirt is red and the "rayas" or "cuadros" are another colour; in that case, it's wrong because you're saying the opposite.

"Una roja camisa" sounds awkward, unless it's very important to stress that the colour of the shirt is red. This is a construction exclusively used in poetry.

If you need to insert the adjective for "camisa", then you place it right after the noun: "Una camisa roja a/de cuadros/rayas."

"Una camisa cuadrado" is not correct; in any case, "cuadrada", but then you'd be talking about the shape of the shirt, not the print.
