There's big news in Mexico having to do with the capture of el Chapo the notorious drug kingpin who has repeatedly escaped prision. In Spain, the new Catalán president vows secession from Spain. Argentina's new president Macri breaks way with decades of Kirschner-dominated politics, and devalues the peso to black market rates. In Venezuela, much turbulence as the Chavez/Maduro dynasty appears to be tumbling partly due to the petroleum glut and Cuba's warming relations with the USA. Much of Latin America faces greater economic challenges as petroleum prices and demand continues to drop globally.
