Más o menos en 1982 -es decir hace unos cuantos años ¡jeje! Estuve de au pair en Annapolis durante el verano. Era una experiencia muy grata y enriquecedora. Los Americanos eran muy hospitalarios.

Corrections?

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que no oiste el despertador, o es que no lo tienes que poner?

Hi Carmencarmona!
A couple of things here...
First we had 21º - i'm pretty sure you know that we don't use the verb have here and that you've temporarily forgotten that we would say It was 21º :)

And when was the last time you had a fag is OK in the UK, if you're asking about when was the last time you had a cigarette, but not in the USA, right Americans??!!

Could you not say 'we had 21º' in colloquial speech?

I am trying to use as much slang as I can, that's why I said 'fag'. I know they often use that word in Ireland but I wasn't aware it was not common in other English-speaking countries!

Here4good - you are SO right. When she wrote that, I totally forgot that "fag" can mean "cigarette" in Britain. I interpreted that question as more than slightly x-rated.... That's why I didn't answer it.

haha! It also means 'homosexual', does it?

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que dormiste en una playa?

I keep thinking about we had 21º and I'm pretty sure that I'd never say it...

And yes, it's good to try to "expand your horizons" a bit, and try to use more colloquial expressions, but of course the more we try to do, the more mistakes we'll make!

Hola Jessica!
No entiendo tu respuesta a la pregunta...

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que te sentaste en la sala de estar?

Has puesto no sé.
Hmmmm, ¿esto es no sé porque no sabes lo que es la sala de estar, o tal vez, no tienes sala de estar donde vives?? ¿Puedes explicar?!!

P.D. Me gusta tu pregunta. ¡Tengo mucha suerte porque a mí me dan abrazos todos los días!

@Here4good, In Spanish we don't even use 'tener' for degrees, I think I was going to type something like 'we had an awesome day' and thought that 'we had 21º' would summarize it or something! haha

Expanding your horizons by making mistakes is paramount in Second Language Acquisition! And it was not really a mistake, just a matter of different dialects!

What was the last question?

Crotalito - yours was the most recent question. You might want to re-word it, as you used a combination of English and Spanish.

I'm confused

Jessice - there have been several posts recently that request your attention. Please read above.

haha I said it was 21ºC in my city the other day, referring to temperature!

Carmen - now that I read the posts on the past three pages, I see where you were going with that. Makes sense to me. :)
