Maybe I'm reading suspendido wrong, but for an employee to be suspended without pay for three months sounds pretty severe, no matter how serious may have been the infraction. I've heard of such a punishment being levied for only one pay period, but who knows?

Whether it's for months or years, to be suspended carries the idea of being suspended from something - in this case, work - so it's enough to say only suspended without pay. The rest of the phrase, without work,would be understood.
