Influenciar— ¿Influencian o influencían?

I've asked a few different native speakers about this, and they don't seem to really agree or even in some cases know. What do you say is this verb pronounced influencian or influenan? ¿O de plano es mejor usar ejercer influencia?

Siempre lo he conocido por influencian. Nunca con acento en la segunda i.

Fuí a la RAE y no hay indicio alguno que se escriba con acento, a no ser por error.

Efectivamente, se pronuncia influencian:

http://lenguajealdia.blogspot.com/20...r-influir.html

Pero es preferible usar el verbo influir:

Espero que os sea de ayuda

True, it's "influencian".

Many people don't bother to search (or ask) for the right conjugation, like "financiar". It's very common to hear both verbs wrongly conjugated in the Media.
