I'll propose at your attention this pretty strange phrase, at least for me, founded in an informatic forum:

I have an older Dell Inspiron 5100 that's been rock solid since day one.

I understand that the fellow tells:
"Tengo un viejo laptop sólido como una roca hasta que un día."
How can I translate correctly this phrase?
Why is it written back to front?

Since day one means from the very beginning; from the first day. I'm no expert, but i guess it should be something like desde el primer día.

I agree with 'desde el primer día' as a possible translation, and add 'desde el principio'.
