Aprovecho la ocasión para solicitar si alguno sería tan amable de informarme la diferencia entre maquillador y maquillista.
Es acaso la diferencia de género en lo que difieren?

@George: Parece ser simplemente una diferencia regional en la palabra para el mismo oficio: aplicar maquillaje a otras personas.

"Maquillista" se usa en México, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Hondura, Panamá... si nos fiamos de CREA (Corpus de Referencia del Español Actual)

"Maquillador" se usa desde luego en España (si oyera "maquillista" yo tendría la misma respuesta de Robin...) También se usa en Colombia, Chile, Perú, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela...

No sé que término se usa en las Filipinas...
