Ciclo solar
I got a text saying See you next year as Hasta el próximo a... ciclo solar. I can only imagine he couldn't manage the ñ of año and wanted to avoid confusion with the other word, but can ciclo solar be a good substitute for year?

Hmm. Un ciclo solar is a span of around 11 years.
That's the astronomy term, anyway.

They're just being funny. They're taking "ciclo solar" loosely, as just the time the earth takes to turn around the sun. That's a sort of cycle.
