I agree with Poli. "Vivo" has many meanings (vivid, alive, lively, smart...), but there is a specific context where there is only one translation possible; "animated background" can only be "fondo animado".
"Intenso" is a synonym of "vivo" only when it refers to things like vivid colors, dreams, memories...
