Nido

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for January 3, 2009

nido - masculine noun (el) - nest. Look up nido in the dictionary

Es increíble, pero cuando se cayó el nido del árbol, no se rompieron los huevos.
Incredibly, when the nest fell out of the tree, the eggs didn't break.

1. Supongo que se refiere a una persona de edad tierna o figuradamente una persona de poca experiencia.
2. No sé (colmena??)
3. "Nido de víboras" sería "nest of vipers". También parece que es el título de una película que en inglés es "The Snake Pit".
4. No sé

Algunas tienen nidos y otras usan hoyos en la tierra.

mouse != rata

mouse = ratón
rat = rata

This means that the father is anxious to have the kids get out on their own (making a life for themselves).
In English, we wait for our children 'to fly the nest'.
When all of our children have flown the nest, we then become empty nesters.
