"Acabalaba" is indeed a funny word, but not Spanish.
![]() Did you mean "acaba" (from verb "acabar" = "to end")? "Bracket", I think, can be translated as "clasificación". "X out of Y" = "X de Y" (read "equis de ye") ...from your example: "diez de catorce" Good luck to your favorite teams! ![]()

Ok. My fault. I had never heard that verb, but the Academy says it does exist. Sorry.
Still, if it's not so common, it's certainly not the best verb for a sports-related feature. I think your verb should rather be "completar". "Ayer se completó una clasificación para el campeonato"
