The other day, someone said to me: "¿Estoy peinada?" I was a bit confused at first. When I asked what that meant, she said she was asking me if her hair needed to be brushed, which was also confusing because I thought brushing was "cepillar". It took awhile to chase down "peinar". Now I think I'm good.............

"Cepillar" can have more meanings, so in that case one would have to make clear "cepillar el cabello", but the usual verb for having your hair "well done" is "peinar" or "estar peinado".
