etc...

1. The weather has been terrible, and I blame the government.

2. The children were fighting, and as usual the boy took the blame. (= he was found to be at fault)

3. The children were fighting, and each one blamed the other for starting it.

4. I caused a road accident yesterday, and I have to take the blame.

5. The suspect was arrested by the police, but he denied he was guilty and put the blame on his friend.

6. I can't think of any more examples of how to use 'blame' and I put the blame on the cheap Spanish wine I drank last night.
