I was wondering if my use of gustarlo is correct here:

That is not a reason for not liking it.
Esa no es una razón por no gustarlo.

Your usage of gustarlo is correct.

The demonstrative pronoun (first word) isn't needed.
The preposition 'por' should be 'para'.

Rusty, I don't think that it is correct.

I cannot think of a single way to put that into context.

I agree with Rusty that the right preposition is "para", not "por". However, although I also find "gustarlo" a bit awkward, I think this would keep the impersonal expression from the original sentence in English.


@fglorca: Maybe I'd reformulate the sentence making a subject explicit (by means of a pronoun), but this implies using "para que + subjunctive":

Ésa no es una razón para que no te guste.
