Yo estoy por traducirla así:
'No podrías ayudarla dado que te gusta así'

@Glen: But the sentence says the person who's talking is the one who likes the girl, not the girl who likes the speaker...

"No podía menos que gustarte así." Might rescue the idea using the structure you proposed.
