All of them convey the notion of that person being unemployable or impaired to move forward in life, hence the "surprise", no matter the good feelings the event trigger, as you were "pleasantly surprised" for something you were not expecting.
"Me alegró mucho/sobremanera enterarme de tu nuevo trabajo" "Me alegró mucho la buena nueva de que conseguiste trabajo" or "un mejor trabajo" though, you may say "Me sorprendió gratamente que consiguieras trabajo tan pronto"
