This is a common dialogue that I have to use when working the ICU. Please correct my mistakes (I hope there aren’t too many.)

You have been laying on your back for a long time.
Ha estado dejando en la espalda por mucho tiempo.
We need to turn you to the side so that you don’t get bedsores.
Le necesitamos voltear al lado para que no le obtengan las llagas.
Which side do you prefer, the Left or the right?
¿Qué lado prefiere la izquierda o el derecho?
First we are going to pull you up in the bed.
Primero le vamos a levantar en la cama.
Let us do the work just cross your arms over your chest and lift your head.
Déjenos hacer el trabajo, justo cruce los brazos contra del pecho y levante la cabeza.
Now turn towards the nurse, I am going to straighten the pad underneath you.
Ahora voltéese hacia a la enfermera, voy a enderezar el acolchar abajo de usted.
Now turn towards me, the nurse is going to put a pillow behind your back.
Ahora dese vuelta hacia a mi, la enfermera va a poner un almohada atrás de la espalda.
Are you confortable?
¿Está cómoda?

do voltearse and darse vuelta mean the same thing?

Déjenos hacer el trabjao, sólo cruce los brazos sobre el pecho y levante la cabeza.

Ahora voltéese hacia a la enfermera, voy a enderezar el acolchar abajo de usted.
(good- I'd probably use colchón (mattress) for "pad".

Now turn towards me, the nurse is going to put a pillow behind your back.
Ahora dese vuelta hacia a mi, la enfermera va a poner un almohada atrás de la espalda.
Ahora voltéese hacia mí, la enfermera va a poner una almohada atrás de su espalda.

Are you confortable?
¿Está cómoda?
¿Está usted cómodo/a?

do voltearse and darse vuelta mean the same thing?

They are very similar in meaning, but for the two sentences above, I prefer "voltearse".

I have been taught to use the definite article for body parts, is there a specific time to use a possessive instead?

The problem here is that my English grammar is as bad as my Spanish
In the 1st half of the sentence le is a direct object pronoun so I need to use lo or la - In the 2nd half le is an indirect object pronoun so le is okay?
(I may have to post a question in grammar regarding object pronouns)

I learned that the article is used for general nouns
example me gustan los tacos, but that dosn't apply here for las llagas?
(llagas is a word I learned in Tijuana last week)

Also to say to get or to obtain you have used the verb salir to leave?

Llagas is correct.

Colcha would be fine.

No es colchon porque no es el colchon el que se pone para que no pase la orina del enfermo. Justamente se pone esta colcha para que absorba y no manche la sabana ni pase al colchon.

I know you know this, David, but you weren't thinking of it. :-)

The words Votearse and darse la vuelta both are correct but the second one is much better.

Podria darse la vuelta por favor para aplicarle la inyeccion segun el horario dicho por el internista.
