Ej.: Todas empresas a las que voy a buscar trabajo no dejan de ponerme trabas. (= poner obstáculos)

hurdles, roadblocks, stumbling blocks Every company I'm trying to get a job with is giving me grief (putting obstacles in my way). They're putting up hurdles/roadblocks everywhere I'm seeking for a job.

@Empanada: De la forma en la que conozco la expresión, sólo una persona puede ponerte trabas. El amor es un ente impersonal, así que no suena del todo bien (ni en sentido poético).
Tu frase podría ser: Cada vez que creo que podría creer en el amor, me desilusiona de nuevo/me desengaña de nuevo. Para usar "poner trabas" en el ámbito romántico: Cada vez que creo que podríamos ser novios, Juan me pone trabas de nuevo. Cada vez que me dice que vayamos a una terapia de pareja, le pongo trabas para no ir.
