May I use manyfold in a sentence like this:

I have manyfold books.

Thanks.

I think manyfold is an adverb, Irma. Is this one on the list you have to remember? It's a rather old word and not often used nowadays.

My book collection has grown manyfold as I recently became a member of the bookclub.

The dictionary said "a lot", and I wasn't sure. Thanks

Yes, this is one of the words... I think there are many old fashioned, and that can confuse me. Maybe I'll start speaking in the 18th century way.

"Fold" en palabras así ("twofold", "threefold", etc) significa multiplicación. "A threefold increase" sería un aumento en 200%.

I was wondering about this. The SOED doesn't even list the word, and Websters on-line gives it as an adverb. Yet here your use as an adjective seems correct. (If you continue with... a manyfold increase..)

Como dijeron los demás (number)fold significa multiplicación , mientras manyfold significa "por muchos" "times many"

The profits increased manyfold in the last century
The profits increased many times in the last..
The pofits increased substantially / significantly in the....

Creo que manyfold no es común aquí

Hmm. Oxford Spanish-English doesn't have "manyfold" but sends "twofold" to "-fold" (suff), where one example is adverbial and two are adjectival.

Y por si alguien se preguntara, "muchfold" me suena muy equivocado.

I can only think of it being used as an adverb. You do not have manyfold books. But this is not modern English, it is old...very old.
