Milecastle

...the wall with forts, milecastles and watchtowers along it...

What does "milecastles" mean? I can't find this word. ¿Castillos militares? (me lo estoy inventando...).

Thank you.

Gracias, poli.

Look here.

Making a search I've found that a milecastle is what poli said and a watchtower is placed between two milecastles. I think that the watchtower is smaller than a milecastle (although I'm not sure). But well, now I've already got the idea of what a milecastle is.

Thanks everybody.

saludos
