None of the two, and I couldn't agree more with you. It is difficult to write a language you don't know. You can copy it, but you just cannot think of it as a native from the get go.

The subject is the noun phrase "escribir un idioma" = "writing a language OR to write a language". It consists of the infinitive "escribir" plus its direct object "un idioma". In Spanish the only form of a verb that can function as a noun is the infinitive. (English is different, we can use either "to+[base form]" (what some call the full infinitive) or the "-ing" form (what some come the gerund).

"Escritura un idioma" is nonsense. "Escritura" is a noun, and nouns cannot have direct objects.

I interpreted the OP as asking for opinions on the structure of the two sentences; of the two, I find that the structure of the first one is correct and the structure of the second one is not correct. I did not intend to comment at all about the underlying meaning of either sentence.

The first is not "incorrect", but it seems to need a second "item" to compare to...

One translate or talks... or writes... to communicate. And if we can communicate constructive concepts, we can do something...

Ell asunto es este, según yo creo.


Hacía que un etíope escribiera su nombre en Amharic, lo hacía y después yo lo escribía como él, pero un poco "raro" por no estar acostumbrado, pero el tipo me quedaba mirando maravillado y soriendo me preguntaba a través del intérprete si yo sabía amharic, y yo le decía que no, que yo podía hacer eso porque yo sabía leer y escribir en mi propio idioma.


Más raro todavía. Gente mexicana venían a mis clases porque sabían leer y hablar inglés, pero no sabían escribirlo!!!!!!??



Ves el problemita de esa gente?

Sabiendo leer y escribir en castellano.

Bueno, viendo que su entrada original era "I think writing a language is more difficult" entonces, siendo un pensamiento original "inacabado", supongo que se puede dar por "buena" la versión marcada con la "palomita"...
