here, it would be poner una trampa if you are talking about -figuratively or not- setting a trap like those with iron teeth to catch game or a ruse to entrap somebody.

A "trampa" is like one of those to catch wild animals. Figuratively, it's a situation to make someone a victim of some kind of abuse or crime, or to make them look as guilty of something.
"Poner una zancadilla" is to trip someone up.
