I have learned two ways to ask for directions:
Donde esta al mercado? and Donde queda el mercado? Which is correct? It seems the second choice actually translates "where it is the market" ![]() In high school, I leaned the "esta" version ![]() |

Additionally, if you're asking for directions, using ¿dónde está...? or ¿dónde queda...? might not get you the information you're looking for. In other words, they'll tell you where it is, but not how to get there. Another option is ¿Cómo llego al mercado? (How do I get to the market?).
