How would you translate the term "you need to compromise". Compromise

If the opinions are opposing, you could say it like this: "I want to paint the room blue. On the other hand, John would prefer to paint it orange."

Can't get to the analysis without a basic understanding of Algebra. I'm teaching a 2nd year Algebra course this year - and haven't used that level of math since university over two decades ago. Ack!! Lots of studying to do!!

I used "on the other hand" on purpose. If you go to that thread, you will see my example without "on one hand", and that is why I wrote what I wrote here ... VERY intentionally!!
