¿Cómo se dice en español?
We have decided to go to Spain on vacation:

Hemos decidido.. ir de vacaciones a España/ ir de vacaciones en España / partir de vacaciones a España...

o ¿ninguna de las anteriores?

Your first choice is correct Jan:
"Hemos decidido ir de vacaciones a España" - "Hemos decidido ir a España de vacaciones"

La propuesta de Sosia es la más inmediata para muchos de nosotros, porque añade un toque coloquial.


"Ir en" no se usa para un lugar, sino más bien para un transporte:
- vamos en avión
- fueron en tren
- va en automóvil


"Partir" puede sonar o muy melodramático ("partió para nunca más volver") o excesivamente formal, así que casi no se usa.
