¿Cuánto tiempo yo debería estudiar español cada día?

Estudio español por una hora todos los días, pero a veces no creo que sea suficiente. Tengo una amigo que vivía en Suramérica y aprendó español por cinco horas cada día. Desgraciadamente, nunca he tenido un profesor de español, y sería mejor si tuve uno.

If you can study in a way that is bearable or even enjoyable to you, you
should study as much as you wish. If studying becomes drudgery, limiting your time to an hour or so may help you persevere. For most people the memorization that is required to learn new vocabulary can be daunting, so spending too many hours memorizing may get too tedious. As English speakers, we have some advantage however, because English and Spanish vocabularies are related.

¿Cómo estudias amigo Esperar? Flash cards? Libros? CDs? Escuchas la radio en español? Miras la television en español? Yo por ejemplo miro cuatro novelas cada noche. Leo libros en español en la cama. A veces no es cuanto estudias sino como estudias. Tengo muchisimos CDs de música en español. Los escucho en mi carro/auto. También hay un dicho que dice: Más vale la practica que la gramática. Yo digo que más vale mirar la television, escuchar la radio, escuchar la música y hablar con la gente hispana que studiar la gramática. Si no estás escuchando el español no estás estudiando bien.

That's a big truth! Something that no one can obviate. But most, become entangled in something else instead of taking advantage of the obvious.



As I recall, esperar had more or less asked the same thing before. He/she has improved a lot his/her Spanish, but is still stalling by placing her/his attention somewhere else.

Just plow ahead or re-read some of the advice that has been left for you.

I study with Spanish work books, and I have Spanish friends who I speak with in person and on the internet. I would like something that is more fun to do at home. There doesn't seem to be much in terms of music and television which appeals to me in Spanish I'm afraid.

As I recall, esperar had more or less asked the same thing before. He/she has improved a lot his/her Spanish, but is still stalling by placing her/his attention somewhere else.

Yes, English helps me a lot in learning español.

The vocabulary only takes you so far. It DOES help, but the grammar can be very different at times.

No, I don't want much TV or movies. Maybe I could try watching translated documentaries on youtube or something... I like documentaries.

Si no hay nada que le guste de la música en español o en la televisión en español entonces eso podría ser precisamente el problema porqué no estás aprendiendo español. Por ejemplo, cuando empecé a escuchar música en español pensé que no me gustaba la música romántica en español. Más tarde me enteré de que era lo que más me gustaba. Aprender canciones en español es una de las mejores maneras de aprender español. Ver la televisión en español es la otra mejor manera de aprender. También encontrarás una gran conexión con los hispanos porque todos ellos están escuchando la misma música y viendo los mismos programas de televisión en español.

Así que trate de escuchar música en español y ver la televisión en español. Tu podrías aprender a gustar lo que pensaste que no te gustabas. Como ya lo he hecho.
