Both can be used as synonyms, but they're not the only words used for a document that proves you paid for something.
You can say "factura", "comprobante (de pago)", "recibo", "voucher" (when you pay with credit card --pronounced [báucher]), "tíquet"/"ticket" (in Mexico; I don't know if it's used somewhere else)... All of them, depending on the speaker and the "legal" purposes. ![]()
