Cotidiano

When learning with an app, that word "cotidiano" appeared and says it's rarely used. But, how rarely it is used? Never heard of it before.

I've heard it used and have seen it written many times. You'll probably hear 'la vida diaria' more often, but 'la vida cotidiana' is a common phrase a mi parecer.

I'm seeing dozens of uses in one newspaper (and its associated blogs) in the past month. Granted that this is a fairly literary source, but I wouldn't call it a rarely used word.

If you are taking into account solely conversations with other people, you will only hear it from more educated persons.
If you read books, newspapers, magazines, or watch and listen to news broadcasts, you will find it fairly often.
