ala - feminine noun (la) - wing. Look up ala in the dictionary Las aves vuelan con sus alas. Birds fly with their wings.

unless it's an emu, penguin, or ostrich.
penguins can "fly" in the water. Los insectos vuelen con sus alas también. Well, some insects, like butterflies and moths.
