This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for February 26, 2009

silbato - masculine noun (el) - whistle. Look up silbato in the dictionary

El sonido del silbato hizo que todos se detuvieran.
The sound of the whistle caused everyone to stop.

So this is the noun "whistle"... as in a physical object "whistle", or can it also be the sound "whistle"?

What is the word for the verb "to whistle"?

I think it's the same for the physical object, whistle. take a look:
