Dar una rueda

I think it means give it a try, but I'm not sure. Can someone confim this?
Thank you.

No idea. With more context I would try to find out, but I don't know this usage.

In context it's dar una rueda de prensa.
It may mean take to to the press or talk to the reporters.I'm not sure

It's use here means "to give a press conference."

That's true. But you must say "una rueda de prensa". "Dar una rueda" means "to give a wheel".

Maybe it was an English speaker translating literally, because in English we "give" press conferences, as in "President Obama gave a press conference yesterday." You can also "hold" a press conference, "President Obama held a press conference yesterday." The two are almost identical in meaning.

Irmamar is right. One must say "de prensa" or it makes no sense at all.

One can say:

Dar una conferencia/rueda de prensa.
Ofrecer una conferencia/rueda de prensa.
Invitar a una conferencia/rueda de prensa.

Yes, thank you. Your definition of press conference definitely fits the meaning I was looking for.
