Ya estoy leyendo dos libros españoles , pero son originalmente en inglés. Nunca he leído un libro escrito por un autor español. He tratado de leer Don Quixote pero es muy difícil . ¿Qué me recomendéis?

Yes - I haven't even been able to get through the first chapter. I've gone back to my Harry Potter in Spanish. Sorry, folks - it's too much of a challenge for me at this point.

I have not found a single book written by a Spanish author which I could recommend for a beginner. On the other hand, I have read all the Harry Potter books in Spanish, they are brilliant for simple dialogue and basic vocabulary. (I tried reading one in English - complete rubbish )

I have just finished La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Exciting story and excellent style, as far as I can tell. Not easy, but well worth the effort, and a darn sight easier than Don Quixote!

Gracias, Angelica. Suelo responder a cada mensaje de distintas personas en un mensaje por persona. Esto pasa ya que es difícil responder a distintas personas en un mensaje solo.

He hallado que leer un libro traducido del inglés al español aún lleva la estructura de inglés por matices, etc. No siento completamente como el español real. Empiezo a pensar en español con más fuerza cuando el texto proviene directo del español.

Te recomiendo muchísimo las novelas policiacas por Ramón Díaz Eterovic. Creo que he leído en algún lugar que las novelas policiacas son algunos de los mejores métodos para aprender otro idioma.

TAMBIÉN, casi se me olvidó acerca de CÓMICS!! Busca cómics en español.

Don Quixote por poco me mató pero no por culpa suya. Es un guerrero muy diestro y yo no tenía las habilidades precisas para vencerlo. Lo intentaré leer de nuevo algún día cuando yo esté armado hasta los dientes.

Los cómics infantiles aquí se llaman "tebeos" (del primero que apareció en España, TBO). A mí me gustan Mortadelo y Filemón, son dos detectives muy divertidos. Aquí hay algunas tiras, pero son mejores las historias largas :

He tratado de ubicar cómics no exactamente para niños tal cual "As de Pike" por Juan Giménez, etc. con un poco del éxito. El arte, ambos el escrito y el dibujado, es magnífico.

Trababa de decir "I have tried to locate comics not exactly for kids such as "As de Pike" by Juan Gimémez, etc. with a bit of success. The art, both the written and the drawn, is magnificent."

He visto las frases "As de Pike" y "As de Pique" usadas en el mismo número de cómic y estaba confundido, especialmente puesto que el símbolo mostrado en el aeroplano principal era el as de picas. No sabía a qué atribuirlo.
