3000 words!

It seemed like a huge number to me, so I have done a bit of 'googling' & various sources say that the average native speaker will only use 1500-2000 words on a regular basis.

They will know & understand perhaps 20,000 though.

If I "had to" memorize 3000 words, I would use a SRS software program like this one: http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/

Eso digo yo, pero el teacher insiste... Claro que no puedo aprendérmelas todas (bueno algunas ya me las sé ). Pero es tan absurdo aprender de esta manera...

En todo caso, lo más seguro es que no tienes que "aprenderlas", la mayoría por lo menos las tienes que traducir y asegurarte de practicar su escritura en inglés.

¿Puedes volver a leer lo que he escrito? ¿Cuándo he dicho algo contra Angélica? Puede que la frase sea un poco ambigua, pero por el contexto se sobreentendía, digo yo:
