Croque-monsieur

French-style cooking may be found in Catalonia, but rarely in Castile.

JPablo, I think a better question would be if there is a Catalan equivalent to croque monsieur.

Catalan cooking has French equivalents. Brandade/brandada
comes to mind, because I like it so much, and I know there are other examples.

Thank you Poli, never heard "brandada" before, (it smells good, though! ... but in checking google gives me "brandada de bacalao" ? (salt-cod brandada?)
I myself love salt-cod, but doesn't seem to match with "croque monsieur"? I take I am missing another definition or type of "brandada"?

When I wrote brandade/brandada I used it as an example of French food
that has a Catalan equivalent. I think it would be more likely to find a Catalan equivalent to croque monsieur than a Castillian equivalent.

This is an image of a croque monsieur. Note that the exterior of the sandwich is covered with molten cheese

Yup, Poli, molten cheese, or oftentimes bechamel... and the "croque-madame" has a fried egg on top... I see in some places they call it "crispy mister" in English... (never heard or saw that before.)
