Toros, otra vez

Bueno, aquí "no hablamos de corridas de toros" sino de "correbous" "que es una cosa distinta" (con unas comillas muy gordas.)

¿Qué pensamos de estas cosas, después de la prohibición de las corridas?

Parece una barbaridad, pero hay tantas barbarides cometidAs contra los
animales que el correbous parece pequeño. Ciertamente es una
celebración vívida que algunos foraneros miran como algo muy típico de una fiesta Española (¡OLE!), pero aquí en este foro debemos saber que España es un pais tan variado que la única cosa típica es la tortilla y la esaladilla rusa.

En EEUU y probablamente en el norte de México tenemos el rodeo en que
abusamos unos caballos mustangos (bucking broncos) Es algo parecido
a las pendejadas contra los toros en España.

Yes, I guessed you meant it like that. I only quoted the "poquito" as a link to your post. Interestingly, you might say the same in English, but with a sarcastic tone which is not possible to recreate in a post, so plently of scope for misunderstanding.

Yes, I don't agree with the murder animal, because although that being legal for some many people crazy, I'm sorry for the word Crazy for it's true, the animal have feeling like us, then they aren't be hurt them for any motive.

The violent people are completely violent person here or wherever, simply I'm not agree with murder animal, they are animals with feelings.

Interestingly enough, I was reading last night "El general en su laberinto" by García Márquez, and in the middle of the book he describes "una pelea de gallos" (rooster fight?) and it is rather barbaric... However, Bolívar brings a lady with him to watch the fight, and apparently, given that ladies were not allowed to watch these "manly" things, the whole thing was "toned down". Of course, we are talking here 1800s, but brutality is brutality, no matter the age or the date...

Like Hobbes said, "el Hombre es un lobo para los demás hombres y ello impide toda posibilidad de civilización". Interestingly enough, I am more for Rousseau, and the basic good nature of Man, and Bolívar had been 'imbibed' on that philosophy too...

Of course, this thread is about "toros" but the "philosophy" related to them is actually applicable. (It reminds me too another very good book on Bolívar Liberator of a Continent where it describes how when little Simón was a boy confronted a "full-blown" bull with quite some courage...)

It is 'funny' how somebody like Simón Bolívar, who was a fierce defensor of freedom and who abolished slavery, (or tried to, I believe) way before the US people fought for that freedom... could also be immersed on the 'cultural' barbaric practices of the times...

Well... we should learn from history... and not repeat atrocities... or perpetuate them.
