Occult = Secret, concealed, hidden - Concise Oxford Dictionary. I've read the secret, concealed, hidden explanation - still don't get it.

My wife finds a picture of what she wants (say, in a magazine) and just shows that to the hairdresser and says "Like this, please" (and they speak the same native language...).
